Brandon Smith

Brandon is a Senior Associate on Clearwell’s public investment team, helping to manage investments for Clearwell Group and Clearwell Advisors. His areas of focus include manager diligence, portfolio management and technology implementation.

Prior to joining the Clearwell team, Brandon was a founder of the investment crowdfunding platform, Localstake.  Localstake was built to allow everyday investors the opportunity to invest in private investment offerings, and to bring more capital to local private businesses.  Brandon oversaw regulatory compliance, securities due diligence and technology implementation for the firm.

Brandon graduated with High Distinction from the Indiana University Kelley School of Business. After completing his degree, Brandon joined J.P. Morgan Private Banking as an investment analyst serving high and ultra-high-net worth families, endowments, and foundations. As an investment analyst, he was responsible for client portfolio allocation, evaluating and recommending investment strategies in public equities, fixed income, hedge funds, derivatives, private equity and venture capital. While at J.P. Morgan, Brandon also completed the required examinations to become a CFA® charterholder and is a member of the CFA® Society of Indianapolis. 

Brandon and his wife Nakita live in Carmel, Indiana and are kept busy by their five young children.
